ABOUT

You found us, We are (the)MAGAZINE.
Yes, the brackets are there for a reason.
It’s a wink and a message at the same time.

We experiment with format, identity, and expectation. We publish themed issues when there is something worth exploring. Not on a schedule, but when it speaks. Each issue is a field, not a statement. Something to enter, not to finalize.

We exist in the space between radical ideas, underground culture, creative resistance, and stories that don't fit anywhere else. Research, criticism, science fiction, speculative writing, performance diaries, experimental work. Fashion and clothing as culture, only when they stand for something.

Writing can have an effect. Subculture is culture. The reader is not outside the work. The reader completes it.

Nothing here resolves into a single position. Contradictions are not errors. They are            part  of the structure. Meaning is not delivered. It is assembled. A theme is not a thesis.      It is a field where different realities coexist without canceling each other out. Nothing is asked to settle. Everything is allowed to remain.

HOW TO
READ THIS

We believe that telling stories of strength, activism, and new ideas can motivate people        to act and make their communities better places to live. At the same time, we recognize that systemic issues require more than individual inspiration. They require structural and policy change, collective action, and long-term pressure. Both of these things can be true at the same time. Individual narratives matter. Systems matter. One does not replace the other.

PRINCIPLE

(the)MAGAZINE is independent. We rely on volunteers and individual donations. If this                                             speaks to you, consider contributing.

CONTEXT

We run on volunteer effort and individual donations. If this found you for a reason,                                                       consider contributing.

SUPPORT

Trudy Giordano

I’m a writer and founder of (the)MAGAZINE, exploring culture, creativity, and the ideas that shape them—often through fashion. My work focuses on collaboration, authorship, and the human side of creative industries.

I’m committed to transparency and responsibility in authorship, viewing creative tools as part of a broader editorial practice while maintaining ownership of ideas, perspective, and final output.

"Don't believe a word we say. Until you make it yours."
